About Flow in Color

Our Vision
We envision a vibrant and equitable movement community where BIPOC aerialists and movers are fully seen, supported, and celebrated. Flow in Color strives to reshape the landscape of movement arts by cultivating access, leadership, and visibility for those historically excluded—empowering individuals to thrive artistically, personally, and collectively, and sparking ripple effects of liberation, healing, and joy far beyond the studio.
Our Mission
Flow in Color is a community-centered arts organization expanding access, sustainability, and paid opportunities for BIPOC aerialists and pole artists. We provide transformative experiences, resources, and support through free programming, education, and grant-funded initiatives—creating inclusive, affirming spaces that foster self-expression, professional growth, and collective impact. Our work promotes collective access, while ensuring artists are resourced, visible, and compensated.
Our Values
Inclusion and Representation
We center the voices and experiences of overwhelmed individuals, especially those historically excluded from movement spaces. We create environments where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe—welcoming people of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels.
Empowerment
We help individuals unlock their potential through movement, mentorship, and community. We believe in the transformative power of self-expression and support people in reclaiming their narratives.
Community and Connection
We build supportive networks that extend beyond the studio to positively impact our wider communities. Grounded in mutual respect, we protect our peace by honoring boundaries and prioritizing collaborative growth.
Integrity and Authenticity
We lead with honesty and consistency, showing up as our full selves. We believe visibility is a form of power and honor the courage it takes to be seen. Recognizing that visibility brings responsibility, we hold each other accountable with compassion and trust.
Creativity and Artistic Expression
We celebrate movement as an art form and a tool for storytelling, healing, and joy. We encourage exploration, supporting every artist’s unique voice and journey.
Joy and Celebration
We believe joy is a form of resistance and renewal. We infuse our spaces with laughter, music, and affirmation, creating necessary room for rest, play, and pleasure.
Leadership and Access
We cultivate leadership from within and strive to remove systemic barriers to participation. By providing opportunities, resources, and representation, we open doors for others to lead, grow, and thrive.
