About Flow in Color
Flow in Color is a community-centered arts organization dedicated to expanding access, sustainability, and paid opportunities for BIPOC aerialists and pole artists. We provide transformative experiences, resources, and community support through free programming, educational opportunities, and grant-funded initiatives—creating inclusive, affirming spaces that foster self-expression, professional growth, and collective impact beyond the studio. Our work prioritizes collective access over exclusivity, strengthening the creative ecosystem while ensuring artists are resourced, visible, and compensated for their labor.
Our Mission
To provide transformative experiences, resources, and community support for BIPOC aerialists and movement artists, offering inclusive, affirming spaces that foster self-expression, personal growth, and collective impact beyond the studio.
Our Vision
We envision a vibrant and equitable movement community where BIPOC aerialists and movers are fully seen, supported, and celebrated. Flow in Color strives to reshape the landscape of movement arts by cultivating access, leadership, and visibility for those historically excluded, empowering individuals to thrive artistically, personally, and collectively, and sparking ripple effects of liberation, healing, and joy far beyond the studio.

Our Values
At Flow in Color, our values are more than words, they're the foundation of every space we hold, every program we build, and every relationship we nurture. Rooted in love, liberation, and collective care, these values guide how we show up for ourselves, each other, and our greater community.
Inclusion and Representation
We center the voices, bodies, and experiences of overwhelmed individuals and communities—especially those who have been historically excluded from movement spaces. We create environments where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe to express themselves—welcoming people of all backgrounds, lived experiences, and journeys, including those often marginalized due to income, identity, experience level, or profession.
Empowerment
We help individuals unlock their full potential through movement, mentorship, and community. We believe in the transformative power of self-expression and support people in reclaiming their narratives.
Community and Connection
We foster meaningful relationships and build supportive networks that extend beyond the studio, and impact the communities in which we live and work. Our spaces are grounded in mutual respect, care, and accountability. We protect our peace by honoring boundaries, rejecting toxic competition, and cultivating an environment where growth is collaborative, not adversarial.
Integrity and Authenticity
We lead with honesty, care, and consistency—showing up as our full selves and encouraging others to do the same. We believe visibility is a form of power and honor the courage it takes to be seen. With that visibility comes responsibility: we hold ourselves and each other accountable with compassion, creating a culture rooted in trust and mutual respect.
Creativity and Artistic Expression
We celebrate movement as an art form and a tool for storytelling, healing, and joy.
We encourage exploration and support each artist’s unique voice and journey.
Joy and Celebration
We believe joy is a form of resistance and renewal. Our spaces are infused with laughter, music, dance, and affirmation, creating room for rest, play, and pleasure.
Leadership and Access
We cultivate leadership from within and strive to remove systemic barriers to participation.
By providing opportunities, resources, and representation, we open doors for others to lead, grow, and thrive.
Our Team
Flow In Color is led by a small but mighty team of two dynamic leaders.
Approach

EDUCATION
Flow in Color provides educational opportunities that support both technical skill development and artistic growth. Through workshops, intensives, and facilitated learning experiences, members gain access to movement education, creative tools, and professional development at reduced rates. Our educational programming is designed to meet artists where they are—supporting longevity, creative confidence, and sustainable careers in the movement arts.

ACCESS
Access is central to our mission. We remove financial and structural barriers by offering free community programming, sliding-scale or discounted education, and clear pathways into opportunities typically limited by cost or gatekeeping. By centering BIPOC artists and cultivating inclusive, affirming environments, Flow in Color ensures that participation in the arts is not determined by income or prior access to resources.
